Programs Offered
All programs in the department are approved and accredited by the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN).
1. National Diploma (ND) in Health Information Management
- Duration: 2 years
- Entry Requirements:
- 5 credits in WAEC/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science, Chemistry, and Physics.
- 5 credits in WAEC/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Program Description:
The ND program provides foundational training in the collection, organization, storage, retrieval, and analysis of health data.
Students learn to use both manual and computerized record systems for patient management and hospital administration.
2. Higher National Diploma (HND) in Health Information Management
- Duration: 2 years
- Entry Requirements:
- National Diploma (ND) in Health Information Management and one year of relevant industrial experience.
- National Diploma (ND) in Health Information Management and one year of relevant industrial experience.
- Program Description:
The HND program builds on the ND foundation, focusing on advanced health informatics, data analytics, epidemiology, and health policy.
Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in health information departments, research institutes, and government health agencies.
